Writer's Eye 2020
Now in its 34th year, Writer’s Eye is an annual literary competition that challenges writers of all ages to use visual art as inspiration for the creation of original poetry and prose. Each year we select several works of art for Writer’s Eye, and interactive tours of the art selections are offered from September through November. Due to pre-planned building work carried out by the University this fall, Writer’s Eye will be conducted through virtual programming in several formats, including virtual tours, in-depth conversations, video gallery talks, and hands-on artmaking. Entries are judged by distinguished writers from central Virginia, and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winning entries are published in the annual Writer's Eye anthology.
Virtual tours: September 8 – November 13
Q&A for Teachers: Tuesday, September 22, 5–5:45 pm
Submissions due online: November 18
Winners announced: January 2121
