Gordon Avenue children’s librarian Glynis Welte delivering a talk

Gordon Avenue Library’s Glynis Welte brings diverse, relevant, and arts-related books to life with engaging songs, movement, and more. After story time, everyone is invited to get creative and make art inspired by the books and art explored. Stories are chosen with young museum goers in mind with the goal of enriching their experiences of the exhibitions and art on view.

Early Visions

Each year, The Fralin holds Early Visions in partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Central Virginia. During the ten-week program, Club members are paired with a UVA student mentor working collaboratively on creative activities that encourage the participants to explore the museum's exhibitions and relate their discoveries to their own lives. Mentors and mentees learn about and from one another while making art together!
