The Fralin Museum of Art has demonstrated a dedication to expanding its collection of photography to reflect the diversity and evolution of the medium. New Acquisitions: Photography, which features photographic works acquired through significant purchases and gifts, highlights this commitment.
Acquiring works of such variety and scope as Danny Lyon’s pivotal Civil Rights Series; Shirin Neshat’s contemporary and political portraits of loss; and Eadweard Muybridge’s late-nineteenth-century motion studies speaks to The Fralin’s ongoing investment in showcasing photographic work of the highest quality.
The Fralin Museum of Art’s programming is generously supported by The Joseph and Robert Cornell Memorial Foundation.
