Henry Moore - Seated Woman

-
From February 22, 2011, to January 17, 2013, The Joseph and Robert Cornell Memorial Foundation Entrance Plaza of The Fralin Museum of Art was home to a bronze sculpture by Henry Moore, a loan from the Henry Moore Foundation in England. Entitled Seated Woman, the over life-sized figure is an early example of the monumental bronzes that became a central element in Moore's work from the late 1950s until his death in 1986. Together with the renovated terraces of the Museum, Seated Woman marked the entrance to the new John and Betsy Casteen Arts Grounds of the University.
