A celebration of The Fralin's 80th anniversary in 2015, Cavaliers Collect will consist of loans from U.Va. alumni with distinguished art collections as well as works that reflect the broad range of The Fralin's own collections. Featuring a variety of genres from Asian to contemporary art, we hope the exhibition will capture the artistic interests of U.Va. alumni, faculty, parents, and friends of the Museum. The diversity of works presented mirrors the diversity of the Museum's friends and patrons: works on view will include artists such as Jan Gossaert, Anthony van Dyck, Robert Henri, Picasso, and Roy Lichtenstein. In addition, there will be a special gallery devoted to non-Western art. This stellar exhibition will celebrate a special anniversary in The Fralin's history as well as its role at the heart of a great university.
